The Great Western Railway of Colorado (GWRC) has issued an advanced notice of RFP for a construction project of relay rail, track, turnout, and grade crossing components between Windsor and Greeley, Colorado.

This is a high priority project that GWRC plans to complete by December 31, 2014. GWRC will be supplying all the material for the project except for the asphalt related to the public grade crossing renewals. The work includes contractor distributed material. Project details listed:

  • Distribute and Install Cross Ties
  • Construct Skeleton Track
  • Distribute and Relay Rail
  • Field Weld
  • Remove and Replace Turnouts
  • Construct Turnouts
  • Construct Double Switch Point Derail
  • Distribute Ballast
  • Construct Timber Crossings
  • Construct Concrete Crossings
  • Surface, Align & Dress

Dates of Significance:

  • Bid packages to be sent out - Estimated August 1
  • Pre-bid meeting - August 7th - Windsor, CO
  • Bids due - TBD - Estimated August 21th (may be adjusted due to material lead times)

Bid documents and drawings will be electronically forwarded to each firm that expresses an interest in bidding the project.
