Richmond, IL - On 9/22/14, U.S. Congressman Randy Hultgren (R-IL-14, Financial Services Committee and Science, Space and Technology Committee) joined representatives from Atlantic Track and the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) for a tour of Atlantic Track's manufacturing facility in Richmond, IL. The NRC organized the event.
Upon his arrival, Congressman Hultgren was greeted by Atlantic Track's Richmond team, including Vice President - Midwest Region Dave Francis and Plant Manager George Perrelli. The Congressman was briefed on Atlantic Track's history, current operations, and recent growth and expansion in Richmond and Chicago Heights, IL.
Atlantic Track supplies new & relay rail, joint bars, tie plates and other track material to Class I and short line railroads, transit agencies, rail contractors and end users in the US, Canada and worldwide. In addition to rail and track material distribution, Atlantic Track manufactures turnouts, specialty trackwork, transit rail products, compromise rails, movable bridge joints, track panels and more. Their other products and services include crane runway and transit systems.

Austinburg, OH - On 6/25/14, U.S. Senator Rob Portman's (R-OH) District Representative, George Brown, joined representatives from Delta Railroad Construction (Delta) for a tour of Delta's Quality Track Equipment facility in Austinburg, Ohio. Delta Manager Steve Pratt and Delta Vice President of Equipment Paul Laurello briefed Mr. Brown and Mr. Pope on the history of the company and the extensive build-out and remodel that Delta Railroad Construction performed on QTE's Austinburg facility to make it fit their specific needs for rehabilitating railroad equipment. In addition, the Delta team spoke on the cooperation they received from the local government, utilities, and educational facilities, as well as the number of machines they move through the facility annually.

Columbia, SC - On 5/28/14, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a member of the Appropriations Committee, Armed Services Committee, Budget Committee, and Judiciary Committee, joined representatives from Harsco Rail and the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) for a tour of Harsco Rail's manufacturing facility and headquarters in Columbia, SC.
Upon his arrival, Senator Graham was welcomed by Harsco Rail's senior leadership team which then briefed the Senator on the company's profile, history, and current operations. Harsco Rail is a major supplier of railway track maintenance and construction equipment, parts, and services. With over 500 employees at their Columbia, SC headquarters, their domestic customers include Class 1 railroads, short line and regional railroads, and rail transit agencies. Harsco Rail also supplies maintenance-of-way equipment to numerous international railroads.

Elgin, IL - On 5/15/14, U.S. Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (D-IL-08), a member of the Armed Services Committee and the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, toured the Fox River Bridge on Metra's Milwaukee West Line in Elgin, IL. The event was well attended with representatives from Metra, the NRC, and the media.
Originally built in 1881, the bridge, located about 35 miles from downtown Chicago, is a 500-foot, single-track railroad bridge that is used by 49 Metra trains and up to eight CP trains each weekday. Starting next year, it will begin to be used by Amtrak trains between Rockford and Chicago.
